A Subaru lease gives you a set term, a mileage allowance, and a clear end date. When that date gets close, drivers around Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, and the rest of Broward County often want two things: a plain-language overview of what happens at lease end, and a local team that can help schedule the next step. That is the role of North Fort Lauderdale Subaru. We walk you through the retailer side of a Subaru lease return, help you prepare the vehicle, and show current leasing options if you want to lease another Subaru. The contract itself, including charges and eligibility, stays with your lease agreement and the finance company that issued it.
What happens when a Subaru lease ends?
At Subaru lease maturity you generally choose one of four published paths: return the vehicle, purchase the Subaru you have been driving, extend the lease if you qualify, or move into another Subaru. Which path fits depends on your agreement, remaining mileage, vehicle condition, and whether you want to keep driving the same model or look at a new Subaru lease.
Review your lease agreement and any official lease-end documents for account-specific rules. Contact our team when you want help turning those rules into a plan.
Subaru lease-end options we can walk through with you
These are the lease-end choices currently listed by the finance company. We can explain each one in person. We cannot change the contract, waive charges, or promise approval.
Lease another Subaru
If you want to replace a leased Subaru, start with current inventory and current Subaru finance and lease options. Ask us whether any lease loyalty program may apply to your account. Moving into another vehicle does not automatically cancel charges on the lease that is ending.
Return a leased Subaru
A scheduled Subaru lease-end return follows the published turn-in process. Returning a leased Subaru early can have a different cost than waiting until maturity. Review that impact in your agreement before you set a Subaru vehicle-return appointment.
Extend a Subaru lease
A Subaru lease extension may be available if you need more time and you qualify. Published rules allow one extension when you are current on payments. Mileage is pro-rated during the extra term. Products added to the original lease do not automatically continue.
Purchase a Subaru at lease end
The lease purchase option uses the amount in your contract. The finance company provides the Subaru lease buyout figures, forms, and instructions. Lease-end financing, when offered, is limited to people named on the original lease.
Subaru lease-end inspection and wear-and-tear guidelines
A Subaru pre-return inspection is optional. It is still the most useful way to see what may be treated as excess wear and use before you return the vehicle. Schedule the Subaru lease inspection appointment at least 45 days before turn-in so you have time to read the report and decide on repairs.
Book the inspection through AutoVIN Live with your VIN and account number, or ask the finance company to set it up. The condition report is usually ready about 24 hours later. If you skip the pre-return inspection, the vehicle is still inspected after turn-in, but you lose the window to repair items first. A completed inspection expires if you return the Subaru more than 60 days later.
Published billing rules may reduce certain wear-and-use charges on the lease-end statement. That adjustment does not apply to tire charges, key replacement, or excess mileage. Your statement is the record of what you owe. North Fort Lauderdale Subaru does not decide inspection results or final Subaru lease-end charges.
What is checked during a Subaru lease inspection?
The published wear-and-tear guidelines treat the following as chargeable in most cases:
- Exterior scratches, dents, or dings larger than a credit card
- More than three smaller scratches, dents, or dings on the same panel
- Any glass damage
- Tire tread under 1/8 inch at the lowest point, damaged tires, or mismatched tires
- Interior damage
- Missing original items such as keys, manuals, or cargo covers
Marks smaller than those thresholds are more likely to fall under normal wear and tear, but the inspection report and your lease control the final call.
How to return a leased Subaru
Preparing a Subaru for lease return is straightforward when you follow the official checklist. Confirm tire condition, review the wear-and-use guide, remove personal items, and bring the equipment that came with the vehicle.
- Keys issued with the vehicle
- Owner’s manuals
- Cargo covers or other original equipment included with the lease
After turn-in, complete the digital lease turn-in steps and any required odometer statement so the account can close. A later statement can still include property taxes, tickets, tolls, Subaru lease excess mileage, unrepaired wear, and other contract items.
You do not have to return the vehicle only to this store unless your own documents say so. Drivers looking for Subaru lease-return assistance in Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Oakland Park, Boca Raton, or elsewhere in South Florida can still start here. We help with the appointment, the questions, and the next vehicle conversation.
Subaru lease mileage and lease-end charges
Your Subaru lease mileage limit is written into the contract. Miles above that allowance are billed as excess mileage. Wear beyond the published standard can appear as excess wear and use. Other statement items can include remaining fees tied to the account. We can help you gather questions and point you to the right login or document. We cannot waive mileage overage, change a disposition fee, or alter repair requirements set by the lease.
